We answer your questions

Making a reservation

You can call us at (312) 757-4454 or Click the purple “Book Now” button!

If you have a pre purchased skydive, you must book over the phone. Please have the following information ready: 1) Gift Certificate code; or 2) Rainchecks: First and last name of each customer.

Skydivers must be at least 18 years old and under 240 pounds. Everyone skydiving will be weighed upon check-in. Your height and weight should be proportional. You MUST bring a valid photo ID or you will NOT jump.

Skydiving is something that most people can do, however sometimes the physical component of it is beyond a person’s capabilities. Here is our suggestion: If you can jump off a picnic table and land comfortably on your feet you can probably skydive! However, if you have a physical or mental impairment, or other questions, please contact our office by phone or email so we can pair you with the appropriate instructor. It is best to speak directly to our instructors about your circumstances to help us ensure that Skydive the Rock is able to accommodate you. A weekday appointment may be necessary to give you the time and attention that you deserve.

We do our best to keep groups together but there are many factors that must be considered when manifesting the aircraft. Generally, you will jump with at least 1 member of your group if not more. Our plane holds 2-6 tandem students per airplane load. You might be asked to form smaller groups if your group is large, which just gives you the opportunity to watch your friends taking off and landing.

Arriving and Getting Ready for Your Jump

Your scheduled booking time is your arrival time. When you arrive, check in at the main window. We will help you begin!

1) Photo ID showing proof of age; 2) Comfortable clothes & sneakers; 3) A great attitude. No bad days!

From the moment you arrive to the moment you drive away can vary with weather and traffic. We serve people based upon their booking order on that date. It will be no less than 1 hour. Plan on 2 hours. If we are delayed because of weather it could be 5 hours. Please be patient. We want to get you in the air as safely and as quickly as possible!

You will be outside in the elements for several hours. Please wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate for the season. Goggles will be provided for your jump, and we do have special goggles that fit over glasses. Hair: It is recommended to put long hair in ponytails, braids or other methods to keep it out of your instructors face/mouth.

Shoes: Tennis, running or skate shoes. No heels, sandals, or shoes with hooks.

Everyone is different but we find a small sandwich works great. Absolutely no drugs/alcohol in your system!!!

Up to 60 seconds of freefall and around 5-7 minutes under the parachute. Lifetime of memories.

Other Questions

Absolutely not. Due to safety issues and USPA skydiving regulations, you cannot take any electronic devices (phone, camera) with you on the airplane or skydive. If you’d like photos\pictures of your skydive, check out our video packages on the homepage.

Safety is our priority – You can bring your children as long as you keep them under control. Please leave your animals at home. Any children left unattended will be given a Red Bull (free of charge!).

We are just as upset as you are! Skydiving is a great sport, but we are all at the mercy of Mother Nature. If you are traveling a long distance to skydive, feel free to call ahead if you think the weather is questionable. Please note though, we are not weather experts (and even if we were…we’d probably get it wrong just like the weathermen do!). THINGS THAT WILL AFFECT JUMPING: HIGH OR TURBULENT WINDS, LOW CLOUDS,RAIN, Our instructors love to skydive but we will jump only when conditions are safe.

Our instructors are all USPA Members, certified Tandem Masters, and have between 2,000 and 15,000 jumps. To put that in context, the minimum USPA standard for a Tandem Master is 500 jumps – our instructors far exceed that minimum jump level.

We are always asked if tipping the instructor is appropriate. It is not required or expected but it is always appreciated! If you enjoy your skydive, a tip is a great way to show your appreciation for a great time!

Absolutely! If you loved your 1st skydive and want to jump again, we can sometimes make it happen the same day. Want to come back next week? We’ll give you a discount.

Observers are welcome. We have two viewing areas with picnic tables and chairs. Or, bring a camp chair.

No. The distance between the tandems make that impossible.
